MANILA - MINDANAO, VILLAGE OF KAEMPAJAN

PURPOSE
Support a husband and wife missionary team who are in their late 60’s and have been in the Philippines for 29 years. They have translated the new testament in the native language and in 2 dialects and are about to start a translation of the old testament. They have raised up two groups of believers who are taking these lessons to teach in other villages throughout the region.

Replace roof and solar panels following a typhon that destroyed what was previously there.

Build storeroom and replace ply flooring eaten by termites.

Troubleshoot issues with 4x4 and order new parts for repairs.

This is a response from a missionary on Mindanao Island when he heard about a helicopter program and reached out to us to build a helicopter hangar to enable helicopters to land:

“What a blessing a helicopter will be to us. At our present airstrip we have no communication with the pilot so it can sometimes mean hours of waiting because of bad weather where the plane is coming from. We don't even know if the plane will be able to come at all, so we just wait through the day. We can't tell the pilot if the weather has closed in on our end. A helicopter will be able to land right near our village - perhaps only a couple hundred feet from our house! And we will be able to communicate with the pilot from our house.”
