PURPOSE
There were major Typhoons and an extreme amount of rain in 2018. We were caught in this in our July trip, managing to get out the day before the river burst its banks and completely washed away approx. 300m of the drive leading up to the complex from the main road. Working with trusted local people, we coordinated plans to rebuild the road including the sourcing of a 20-ton digger so I could go over there for a week and manage the work to try and get it done before camps and conferences starting in December. A stone wall also needed to be built which would require a combination of a team I took and hired labour there.
